Nothing says 'The North East' better than a brass band! Actually, nothing says 'Christmas' better either - not if you've seen 'It's A Wonderful Life' or can remember the brass bands that used to play on Northumberland Street to warm the hearts of Christmas shoppers.
Throughout December, the Alphabetti Theatre is hosting a 'Battle of the Brass Bands' contest to raise money for homeless charity, Crisis Skylight. We're going to be attending the final on Friday, December 23rd. Come and join us for a glass of mulled wine and an evening steeped in our tradition of community music-making. Tickets are £3 to £10, depending on your financial circumstances.
