Frenchmans Cap rockclimbers registration

Registrations are open up to 6 months in advance.

Please note this registration system is only available to rock climbers that will be carrying both a rope and rack of climbing hardware.

This registration is voluntary and free. By registering for your walk you are helping the Parks and Wildlife Service to reduce the potential for long-term damage to fragile remote bush walking environments by limiting daily departures. Many sites, such as Tahune, do not have capacity to accommodate additional users due to the terrain.

Please consider the following information carefully:

Plan for a safe trip and be prepared. Climbing in alpine areas is an amazing and rewarding experience. Choose climbs that are well within your capability. Frenchmans Cap is a serious, remote cliff. Understand that response to any accidents will take time and may be very challenging.

This registration system is not a safety system. Individuals are responsible for their own safety and preparation as per the Walk Safely messages, including recording their trip intentions in the walker logbooks at the trailhead. A valid national parks pass is required. This can be purchased in advance online.
