We are planning for our next 200-hour training to commence Monday 9th January 2023. This course will consist of 150 hours online, followed by 50 hours in-person in Nairobi (Kenya), and Rishikesh (India).In 2020, we began offering 150 hours of the 200-hour teacher training course online. The 200-hour course is offered in two parts to make it easier and more accessible for students to join the training with our teaching team in India. We have the most senior teachers of Rishikesh come together for the training so it takes place once a year only. This course focuses on yoga and ayurveda philosophy, pranayama, meditation, asana alignment, the therapeutic aspects of yoga and hands-on adjustments. Kanga yoga is inspired by the teachings of Swami Sivananda, Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar and Sri Krishna Pattabhi Jois. It is adapted to the individual rather than adapting the individual to yoga. We teach a multi-style yoga asana practice including Ashtanga Vinyasa, Sivananda and Iyengar style. The Yoga teacher's course is certified by Yoga Alliance, which is recognised worldwide.
It is optional to join the 150-hour course only, then later it is possible to make up the 200- hour training by enrolling on the 50-hour course. Many people join the course to teach yoga, and others join for a deeper understanding of Yoga & Ayurveda and to develop a self-practice. Online teaching has opened doors to students to learn from the teachers in India from their home countries
The 150 hours online are led by all course teachers. All subjects, including asana classes, are taught, except adjustments and teaching methodology part 2 where students are observed teaching and adjusting asanas. The 50 hours in person are led by Emma Bonnici and an assistant Kanga Yoga teacher. These hours focus on teaching methodology; asana adjustments, students teaching in pairs, planning and teaching a class. We have a limited space for 12 students only. We keep the numbers on the course limited to ensure quality teacher to student time.

- APPLICATION PROCESS -
You do not need to be an experienced practitioner of yoga to apply for this course. It is ideal to have some basic knowledge. During this course, we dive deep into each module. This course is most suitable for dedicated students who wish to learn more about yoga and ayurveda and/or train to teach yoga.
