About this Event
Welcome to St. Albert the Great Parish!
During this stage in the reintroduction of public Mass in the Diocese of Calgary, we can only admit up to 100 people per weekend Mass not including the priest and volunteers. For this reason, we ask all those attending Mass to pre-register. Registration is necessary during this stage to fulfill requirements from the Govt. of Alberta for contract tracing due to the pandemic.
Please note that we must lock the doors to the church as soon as mass begins. Once locked, we are unable to admit anyone until the mass concludes.
Our wonderful volunteers have to do their jobs regarding the health screening and registration of everyone entering. Please try to arrive 15 to 20 minutes prior to the start of mass, so that we can get everyone in and seated (including our volunteers) and start on time.
WALK-INS AND LATE COMERS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED AT THIS TIME.
You MUST attend a Mass in your own parish at this time due to space limitations. The limits on the number of attendees may change if the AHS requirements are modified in future stages.
We ask that only St Albert the Great Parishioners signup for only one weekend Mass per month so that everyone who wishes to celebrate the Mass has a chance to attend.
Given these circumstances, we have to enforce a no-ticket, no-entry policy. Daily communicants will have to pre-register for every Mass they wish to attend.
You are required to provide the name of each individual attending so that they can be checked in prior to entering the Church for the Mass they are registered.
If the Mass you want to attend is already full, please select a different Mass.
Weekend masses fill up very quickly. Consider attending one of our weekday masses which usually have availability.
Please arrive no later than 10 minutes prior to the start of the Mass as each person must complete the check in process.
If you have to cancel your attendance to a Mass, be sure to do so by clicking on the "view and manage your order online" link on your confirmation email.
Also note we are unable to accept registrations by phone.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding.
Also, please review the documentation on this link prior to coming to the Mass as it provides information that will make your experience enjoyable.
Congregational singing is a high-risk activity and is not allowed during the initial stages. Infected people can transmit the virus through their saliva or respiratory droplets while singing or chanting. This prohibition in Stage 1 includes singing by a cantor or soloist.
Please take a moment and read the following:
SELF ASSESMENT: Use the AHS self-assessment tool. If you have any flu-like symptoms, please stay at home. Remain at home and self isolate if you or anyone in your household is feeling sick. Volunteers and staff reserve the right not to admit anyone exhibiting symptoms.
ATTENDEES: Attendees and volunteers from demographic groups that are at a greater risk of serious illness, such as people 65 years of age or older and individuals with chronic medical conditions are encouraged to stay safe by avoiding public gatherings, but are not prohibited from attending Mass if they so choose.
CHILDREN: Children must remain with their parents or guardians at all times.
ENTRY and EXIT: Enter through the main entrance doors at the south end of the building as all other entryways will be closed. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each Mass. After the Mass everyone will be asked to exit through the two east side entrances (one near the choir and one in the narthex).
CHECK-IN: As you enter, you will need to show your ticket to the volunteers so they can check you in (either in print or on your mobile device). At this point, they will be asking you questions to verify information needed for contact tracing.
MASKS & PHYSICAL DISTANCING: You are required to provide and wear your own non-medical mask (fabric or disposable mask). Children under 2 years old are not required to wear a mask. Please wear your mask throughout your stay in the church. Please maintain physical distancing of 2 metres between people who are not from the same household at all times.
BUILDING ACCESS: All exterior and interior doors with access into the Narthex and the nave of the church will be closed during the Mass. All doors inside the church will be locked (i.e. St Cecilia, Children's Liturgy, St John the Baptist and the St Anne nursing room). The main floor washrooms will be the only ones available for use.
SANITIZING: Ushers will spray your hands before entering or exiting the church.
Please note that Bishop McGrattan's decree dispensing Catholics from the Sunday obligation remains — this means that even though public Masses have resumed, Catholics are not obliged to attend Mass and those who attend do so out of their own free will and risk.
How to register:
Click the red "Select a Date" button at the top right of this page near the picture of the church.
